Interface in The Most Productive Area

The interface between man and machine is often the most sensitive area in a materials flow system. So ergonomic requirements are an

important factor even at the initial design stage of TGW pallet conveyor systems.

All interface details are taken into account to achieve maximum efficiency and thus keep logistics costs down.

Catering for real people is a complex business. Should the gripping space be horizontal or vertical? Where should the monitoring and control units be placed? What about lighting? Colour? What physical or mental performance limits are involved? Our system designs have to take all these into account.

To get the optimum individual gripping and storage heights, TGW uses lift tables. That’s to ensure pallets get manually or automatically to the correct working heights. So that gripping zones do not move out of gauge, swivelling security devices are used. Contact surfaces are finished with wood, plastic and padding to achieve optimum operating comfort. The improved feel produces better performance from operators. Screws, sharp corners and edges are smoothed over by TGW.

At the point of transfer, floor-level loading stations make removal with hand forklifts, electric lift-trucks or stacker cranes easier. A monitoring device checks pallet quality and guarantees that only acceptable pallets are conveyed into the automated system.
